Can anyone suggest some nice looking panniers suitable for a 1990 R100gs. I need a left side (smaller size) standard BMW item to compliment the right side. However at £200+ for a new one from Motorworks and being unable to source a decent second hand one I'm wondering whether to bite the bullet and get some ally adventure style ones. I don't want massive panniers, somewhere I've seen some slimish ones. Is it possible to buy the 'ally' type panniers that will fit onto the standard BMW pannier frames?
I was considering selling the bike (yellow/black 'bumblebee') after recently aquiring a nice Triumph 900 Trophy to use as my bad weather bike, but each time I get on the GS I enjoy the ride so much and know I'd regret selling it, especially since over the last 1000mls it's had new tyres, battery, starter motor, pushrod tubes, carb rebuild, timing chain and tensioner and is now running very sweet.
The other notion I've had is whether to take it off the road and restore it, or leave alone and let it grow old gracefully (it's in fairly good condition cosmeticly). Perhaps I'll just get the seat recovered, and get the subframe, crashbars, and rack powder coated.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure
