Sounds the same as my issue. Follow the advice from Rob earlier in the thread and it may sort yours too. My idle jet screws were too far out.

I think you mean your mixture screws were way out as they are adjustable up and down against the springs. The idle jet screws just screw in (well that's the way I have interpreted it). Another tinker in the morning.

Well the mixture screws were spotless. As for the idle jets, the threaded ends unscrewed leaving the jets (a press fit?) in the carb body. Just blow them through?
