r100gspd valve clearance question

Hi,
When I set the valve clearances at TDC on compression stroke, I noticed that there is another crank position where the clearance in wider, approaching TDC. Compression pressures are 140psi, only issue is valves a bit noisy. Done the shimming of the rocker endfloat, quieter but no cigar yet.
Anyone know if this wider clearance before tdc is normal or not?

May be worth checking the timing marks on the camchain sprockets.

Rob, the valve crossover point on the non-firing stroke is at TDC, will verify again but I took that to say the cam timing was good. Bin
