I had one of those days recently. The bike started running rough, the clutch started dragging, one indicator stopped working, it backfired and blew the RH carburettor off (!), and the speedo stopped working. Solved everything by the time I got home, except the speedo.
I used the old cable in a drill chuck to verify that the speedo works, and watched the top end of the speedo cable while I turned the back wheel to prove the cable was ok, and I reworked the end of the cable to make sure it was fitting well. But, put it all back together and still no good.
What gives?
OK, its a pattern cable, and the speedo has been "repaired", but if the bits all work independently, why the frig don't they work together?!
