R1100/1150GS Injector upgrade from the US - group buy interest?

no probs - good to hear most are finding some improvement.

ive been running about on mine a few days and the most surprising thing for me is that the bike simply feels lighter. low speed corners i feel like i have more control, the throttle at that speed is much less on/off, a more linear power delivery. i thought initially it could be a placebo but I am most certainly convinced now. I am tempted to put the old injectors back in see how it feels the other way around but I may not get around to it any time soon.

fuel consumption seems pretty much same as before, no noticeable difference.

Which model do you ride? With or without O2 sensor?

If you add too much fuel, you can get the symptoms you're reporting. I would remove John's chip and reinstall the injectors (which add a lot of fuel at low engine Load).

I've got similar experience with my bike (1150GSA twin spark) as Chris. I dont have John's chip but have the Af-xied installed. It was at #8 threshold and was running badly with the new 1200 EV14 injectors (got mine from Tills). All 4 plugs were fouled sooty black. Replaced them all, drop to #7 threshold and reset ECU and it runs just like what everyone says about the injectors. I wonder if given time (with a few more tanks run), the motronic will adapt well enough to try for #8.

I've had time to have a proper look now & there's definitely a degree of difference, my original injector set up was balanced perfectly at both idle and higher RPM but after fitting the new injectors the balance was out, not considerable but definitely out and noticeable.
I re-balanced everything and immediately noticed that the idle was higher at both cold and operating temperature so that was the next adjustment.
My bike is now running very well and has a better pick up which is more noticeable at low to mid range but I appreciate that this may settle back over time, I let a bike mechanic have a run on it today (runs a LC 1200) and he said that it was definitely the most responsive and smoothest 1150 that he has ever ridden...maybe I'm just lucky but I have also spent a whole load of effort & cash over the winter to ensure that the old girl will look after me properly :D
There's an AF-XIED winging it's way over to me as I write this as the bike was running very hot last year while touring through Bosnia & Montenegro ( temperature was high 40s nudging 50s most days & ridiculously hot in city traffic ) so that should help to regulate things a little hopefully.

So...yes, they have made an improvement although I don't know how long term this is likely to be but I think that the injectors combined with the difficult to pronounce box of tricks should be pretty much how the bike should have left the factory in the first place

On a twin spark running Y-piece, Laser end can & no CAT plug with almost standard (HI-FLO) paper air filter...not a K&N fan if I'm honest!

Mike.

gog is there another order

hi gog is there another order being set up looking for 1100 gs set please same as bowser

Fitted mine to the 1150 at the weekend. First impressions after 40 odd miles are good. Starts quicker, tick over just the same, small throttle openings are much improved and far less jerky so small wet roundabouts should be easier. Seems to rev more eagerly particularly in 3rd and 4th. I really hope the Motronic doesn't reign in any advantage over the longer term as I think it's money well spent. Thanks again Gog for organising

I should have bought two sets, fiited on the wifes bike and she loves it, really noticed the difference, if there is another order I would go for a second set

hi gog looking for a set for a mate for his 1150 as well as my own 1100 thanks mac

hi mac - ill message keith in the us and see if he wants to do the same again. price might be slightly more than quoted at the start of the thread as i mucked up on the calcs so need to factor in VAT. if not enough are interested to do another group buy i dont think its a ridiculous amount more to just get them direct from Injector Rehab. I think we got a 15% discount plus shared the shipping cost but in real world money its not going to break the bank and so far seems most are very happy.

I'll take a set for a 1150 if ordering again. Was just going to rebuild the TBs but will hang on for a bit to see if an order is being placed!

OK looks like we are doing this again - though unfortunately the cost is slightly higher. Last time I mucked up the calculations and didnt account for import VAT, and though most paid the extra I requested I still ended up wiping out the discount I got on my own set and a bit more - my own fault though. This time I know what to expect and have corrected the pricing - I am not making profit. Prices are:

1100GS kit - £165
1150GS (and 1100S) kit - £145

The price includes brand new injectors and all brackets needed plus your share of postage from the USA to me, transaction fees/currency exchange, postage from me to you by royal mail 1st class delivery, and import duty/VAT.

If you were to buy these direct yourself the 1100 kit would end up approx £219 and the 1150 kit £198.

We need to get to 10 definites before I place the order and if we haven't reached it (or very close) by a week today then we will draw a line under it.

Cheers
Gordon
