R1100GS Blackpool area.

Monkey piss yellow is definitely the best colour the 1100 came in.

somebody has loved that bike and spent some money on it. looks great. looks like the 1150 style beak could be a b-art one and those were not cheap.

I had a good look at the bike today and the beak appears to be custom made, it is very stiff and made from gel coat and glass fibre. Initially on inspection when I saw the underside of the beak I thought it was a damaged repaired plastic beak but it's not, it's a very well made custom item.
The light guard is laser cut and has the name Mototech cut int it.
I don't have the exhaust in my possession but that appeared strange as well, a bit like an R1100R exhaust with its internals removed, I only hope I get it as it was not put on the van for delivery.
So, what is a B-art bike?

I really don't get why you would put an 1150 beak on an 1100 :nenau

I love my Kalahari yellow with original beak :thumby:

I agree with you but I am going to hold off reverting back to original until I understand what I have got.

What you have got is a great bike with some expensive aftermarket parts fitted.
In 2004 that front beak/mudguard was £190

i have a full original 1100 beak with trims if you decide to revert. would be interested in the b-art if you don't like it also

I have just bought my second 1100 and enjoying it immensely ...... I had forgotten how good they are

We regularly meet up and ride from Garstang if you want to come along

The special edition Kalahari yellow, available from 96 - probably the best and rarest of the 1100s (certainly the quickest) very sort after now and fetch many thousands of dollars in the US. ;)

Were they really special edition colours, or just rare because most sane buyers chose one of the better colour options? :D
It sounds a bit like the Matt Black Blackbirds Honda made for one year, that sold in so few numbers whenever you see one come up for sale the current owners usually try to pass them off as Limited Editions :blast

I own a kalahari yellow R1100gs for jus ovr a yr now hated the colour at first but now font even notice it ..it tends to grow on you wouldn't part with it now ..

I had the standard exhaust put back on during the pre delivery service, the short exhaust got left at the dealers when the bike was collected for delivery.
It arrived today, I haven't seen an exhaust like it for an 1100, all the dents correspond with the side stand and main stand.

Next time you are out give me a shout. On a 1200 though. My son has an 850, so close.

I've got one of those Remus centre boxes and a back box without removable battles but I was looking for a bit more throaty exhaust note so got a Remus viper can and straight through centre pipe. Bike is a 99 1100 without a cat. Running johngs stage 5 chip and very happy with smoothness and performance.
