Hmm when riding along and going over bumps n worn out tarmac n over speed bumps I can feel like a clunk coming from the front end ..would it be coming from the telelever ball joint ? cheers

Sounds like you're thinking the right way. How is the low speed stability? If it's really hard to track a slow, straight line and instead you're playing with the bars, then the ball joint is a good candidate. But perhaps check the other obvious bearings - main steering bearing, wheel bearings even telelever bearings. Saying all that, ball joint is a good start

Up on centre stand and then lift front wheel vertically... If it's Tele joint you will feel the play...

Mine developed a similar sensation, still felt even after fitting a new ball joint and headstock bearing. It was only a slight clunk, more of a click really - traced it to the righthand fork top - the stanchion bush was toast. £68 a side from MW believe it or not...

If its a similar setup to the hexhead,

I'd hazard a guess the rubber bush (part 2) that sits on the top of the top & bottom of the font suspension has worn

I had similar when i did my suspension swap - the bushes were deeply grooved / compressed

i had a clunk when dropping it off the centre stand, or compressing the front end

I changed the bushes and it went away
