Hi

I have a problem with my R1100gs, after I ride for about 6 miles my Oil light comes on. I have checked the oil and the level is fine in the window. Any idea's, thanks in advance :-)

Regards Rob

The oil light warns of low oil pressure, not level. Your symptoms would suggest that as the oil thins at working temperature, the oil pressure drops below the recommended level.

Might be duff switch. Might be worn bearing mains/big ends. I'd go with replacing the switch and seeing what happens, unless you get rumbling/knocking from the engine, in which case stop immediately and get prepared to open your wallet...

Not another oil thread !

20-50 for these old tractors to the correct api spec cheaper too

As above replace switch first.

If it is loss of oil pressure then when the light comes on it's all too late to save the big ends. And the noise will also give you a clue :D

Just replace the pressure switch when you get time.
Or just ignore it, as i have for the last two years on my K series :D
