R1100GS stat from early October until late Jan, uncovered in garden (I know i'm a tit). Charged up battery and turned her over but it wouldn't start. Fuel pump priming, pulled spark plugs and earthed out on engine and no spark. Read lots of forums and decided to change Hall Effect Sensor (90,000mile bike). Finished HES replacement and tried starting, got momentary start and then it died. Tried starting until starter got warm but didn't fire again. Took HES off again to make sure it was lined up against my scribes and the tab wasn't bent, all looked pukka. Left it overnight, charged up battery again, just sat outside trying to start it and after alot of cranks and some angry, choke/full-throttle FFS-king it fired and revved up and sounded like a bag of shit running on half a cylinder, then died...
Questions for you wisdomous oracles of the GS:
1) Is it fcuked?
2) Did I fit a duff HES?
3) Is maybe the wiring between the "new" HES plug and the ECU to blame?
4) Is it the coils or something else?
5) Is it fcuked?
6) Why would this happen to meeee?
7) It just sat there, wasn't on fire or given a kicking, just a normal winter outside in the elements! Whyyyyyyyyyy?
