hiya lads.any difference between the two in terms of diy maintenance?i know the 1100 is fairly straight forward for your average home diyer but how about the 1150.cheers

I guess the only real difference is the fact that the 1150 has a hydraulic clutch. Which is better from a maintenance point of view could be argued either way I guess although I will say that on the 1100 the cast ally lever arm down by the gearbox can crack and fail. It happened to mine a year or so ago, but there is a steel upgraded part available.

I agree with Mark, the clutch is a double edged sword for maintenance.

The other issue, from a DIY standpoint, is the servo-assisted brakes for the 2003-2006 bikes. You really need to bleed the ABS pump once a year and that's not as simple as the pump on the 1100 and earlier 1150.

The rest is easy-peasy.
