I have just been quoted £180 by local dealer to change brake fluid has anyone got a way of doing this without using dealer. They are saying it takes 2 1/2 hours !!!!!
Its a bit wordy and you don't need the funnel thing, just keep an eye on the level, as long as you take your time and are reasonable mechanically minded then its surprisingly easy.
Have you got Servo assisted ABS?? Only the Servo assisted has the split system requiring the special attention. If you are not sure turn on the ignition is there a lamp that blinks fast and then settles down to an on / off blink sequence and just to be sure when you pull a brake lever do you hear whining sound from under the tank?? If so you will need the Servo ABS procedure BUT make sure you do not allow the servo tank to drain and run dry or you'll screw the unit!
You have said ABS II in your post but ABS II is straight forward in at the master cylinder and out at the callipers just flush the old fluid thru with new fluid and if you have the tank off don't forget the two nipples on top of the unit just to be sure it's all out
