Looking to replace the screen on the ADV. It's a 54 registered bike.

Anyone got any goods, bads, do's dont's?

Pics would be good!:beerjug:

Why do you want to change it? Just damaged or are you 8ft tall and want extra protection...

Its scratched to buggery, plus it 'wobbles' a lot. Protection is good enough but as I was going to change it i thought there may be a better one out there? I can get a new one from BMW for about 90 quid, but can also get an aftermarket one for about the same money.

I'd forgotten about the "wobbles" until you posted.

I changed mine within a few weeks of buying the bike new in 04, partly because of the screen flapping about (worse still with tobinators).

I opted for a Ceebailey, standard Adventure screen in dark tint (the tint is purely cosmetic). It's about the same dimensions as the OE item but the shape is better.

I kept the Tobinators on for a couple of years then tried it without: No buffeting with this screen (for me), so the Tobinators were sold on.

It's made from aircraft quality plastic, even after all this time, it's still unmarked, it's thicker than the OE item and doesn't suffer from the wobbles.

My screen standard screen has now got really bad cracks in it, due to the wobble effect you get when tobinators are fitted:tears. That smoked one looks good, might try one of them when mine self destructs.

Just noticed that MOTOR WORKS do one for 54 quid, plain or tint. Anyone know if theyre any good?

Also James Sherlock does one for 64 quid.

They look like the std one?
