Hi Folks
I hope this is the correct place to post this?

I need to replace the battery on my 1999 R1150 GS, it's had a good life (almost 10 years) but it does now need replacing.

Can anyone help me with supplier & price details - I did look at Motobins but couldn't find what I wanted, besides they are sent dry.

I'm near Worcester if that's any help.

Thanks in advance
Dick

Why not ...

... PM Steptoe, I think you'll find he's got some batteries for 11**'s :thumb2

Battery

I might be wrong or right am no sure, but think they are all sent dry.
Try ebay 30 quid rings a bell. Its not an issue to pour the acid in.:thumb

You've just had 10 years out of the (i presume) original battery.
I reckon a phone call to a BWM dealer for the price/availability of another OEM one is called for.:thumb

Got a new battery on mine last yr, an Odyssey, one of the better ones I do believe :thumb2

Is Steppers charging £56 for an OEM gel battery? - Wish I'd know this a while ago

No - they appear to be lead/acid and collection only. thats certainly what they look like in the picture on the other thread. And no mention of delivery charges either.

Am I the only person who finds it entertaining that the Odyssey owners all pipe up with the usual nonsense when anyone mentions the word 'Battery' - bless em.

.

They are dry but come with an acid cartridge that auto fills the battery when needed so you don't spill a drop on the ankle deep axminster. You then seal the battery ( part supplied) so it needs no further maintenance.

Haven't a clue what they'd cost to post and they are heavy, but i expect it would nullify any potential saving on buying from a local supplier.
