Just taken delivery of a front Corbin seat. Looks very well made and very very heavy. Having some serious problems fitting the thing – it almost seems too wide and as such rubs on the rack. This seems to prevent it being pushed down enough to click into position.

Is this normal? If so, what’s the trick to fitting it?

It was supposed to prevent a pain in the arse – not be one:D

Fitting ...

... is indeed a pain, but they do go ! Place it over the bike and slide it rearwards so the metal loops go UNDER the leading edge of the alloy plate. Then drop the front and wiggle it into the appropriate height slot; then seat the rear. You will undoubtedly get it wrong and drop one of the rear loops into the seat catch which prevents the aforesaid wiggling, just repeat endlessly with lots of muttering :spitfire

Believe me when I say it IS worth the effort :thumb2

Gaffer tape the front of the silver rack too...............unless you want it knackered in no time:blast

Thanks guys:thumb Now that I know it’s normal to struggle round two will commence tomorrow:)

I found I could only get mine onto the highest of the two seat mounting points, no amount of swearing, wiggling or bruteforce would get it on the lower ones:nenau After sussing it out though I can now get it to drop straight on with no faffing.
If you intend to fit the standard pillion seat with the Corbin you'll have to cut about 3/4 of an inch of the front of the pillion seat base
(Tim told me about this and it's not as drastic as it sounds if you go canny)

Ah come on DrAlf please don't tell me your arse is now big enough for a Corbin seat  :augie

I'm aiming to grow into it:)

Thanks for the tips on cutting down the rear seat. I'll look into it when I manage to fit the front:rolleyes:
