R1150GS ... they still have "it", don't they?

I've still got mine which I bought new in 2003. Now done 160,000kms, but I'll never part with it. Too many good memories.

My old girl (Bertha) is 24 - 2000 on. W plate an ABS model with E gear box.

bought it cos its the same colour and the Charely/Ewan bikes that went round the world.

and in one season of returning to riding after a ...oooh... maybe 16 year break from two wheels. (wow where does the time go) she put a big ole smile on my face. As did the Ducati..

Any pics ?

There you go, in the Atacama, Chile, also in a canyon in Bolivia.

Bike did very well on a run from Santiago, Chile to Bogota in Colombia via Argentina, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador. Couple of issues with heat and crap fuel (not using the standard chip was a mistake maybe) and a slightly leaky oil pressure sensor. After 8500 miles now back home, serviced and ready for the next one.:D

Very impressive.

First registered 1st of May 2004, bought by me in August 2004 with 996 miles. Now showing 113,402, other bikes have come and gone.
This was written off in 2012, bought it back, Steptoe straightened the rear sub frame, still going strong... blip a few days ago with the servo assisted ABS but all OK now.
Original clutch and shocks.

I wonder what the record is for non servoectomy... You must be up there...👍

My black GSA in post #157 had its Servo ABS removed last year
Aug 2004 build and 67k
So the Servo ABS lasted 19 years and 67000 miles
It was working perfectly at the time and had never malfunctioned
I just didn’t trust it and didn’t like how the Servo ABS worked in operation from the day I bought a new 1150 GS in 2004, kept it 4 Months and put it up for sale in later September of that year, back at the dealership and ordered my Silver 1150 GSA (sans ABS) for delivery in April 2005 and still have that bike

It’s superb
