Hi All following a long layoff I'm getting the GS back on the road. What road based tyres are people running at the moment?
She's wearing Tourances at the minute and I found them fine but that was 4 years ago. Have things moved on since?

They've moved on plenty but strangely you can still ride perfectly well on older designs and models of tyres... I often run a mixture perfectly fine on my 11GS but a recent rear Anakee road bought out of necessity after a puncture issue seems a good tyre... I bought a pair but my front mitas road biased tyre refuses to wear quickly...👍😂 It'll be a GP bike when I get that fitted...😉😂

I have had Conti ROAD Attack 2’s on my 1150 for the last few years. Absolutely superb tyres. :thumb2 I think there are 3’s available now though. My rear one has squared off now so I’ll be getting a pair of 3’s imminently.

I used these on my R1150GS and the v1 before that. I think they are on v4 now. Transformed the bike compared to the OE Tourance.

Oh ok, 4’s it will be then. :thumb2
I always want maximum grip from a tyre and not bothered about longevity. Stickier the better.

I binned Tourance for Michelin Road 6 worth considering. Bit pricy but seem to have a higher mileage than other makes.

But then tyres are generally an individual preference.

When I bought the bike it had Dunlop 607 (I think) on it and I loved them. I went to the Tourance on recommendation but I never had the same trust in them so I've decided to go with a full on road tyre this time. I won't be doing huge mileage so it's grip over longevity.
I'll take a look at the Continentals and the road 6's
Thanks Folks
