As I own an R1150GSA I do keep an eye on sale prices but just noticed one on ebay for £7175 on a 2002!

See ebay 121599271344 although nowt to do with me

Mine must be worth £6999, I wished! I this a bit pricey?

I've seen it, the bike and it's ok - not £7175 brilliant

Only thing going for it is low miles, if that bothers you

The proof I suppose is to see how long its up for sale. Cant see anyone paying that amount though.

Ive got a 2005 model and in my opinion its immaculate but would think its only worth £5000 or thereabouts PLus I also saw on here a comment about how the R1150GSA was losing value? maybe not

They are not losing their value IMHO. A good later one with 35k on it will fetch 5k-5.5k with some decent farkles not far off an 08 GSA so holding their money far better than the girls version.

I think low miles is neither here nor there for these bikes. Anything sub 20k will command a premium. There will always be some overpriced and some underpriced. My 04 with Sargent seat, nitron shocks, Vern panniers, a few nice TT bits of tat, tobinators, awesometastic lighting rig and in very tidy condition is a 5500 bike all day long with 35k on the clock. To me it's priceless though, so IMHO it represents fantastic value for money :D

I agree, how about a photo. Your awsometastic lighting rig sounds fab!

The sale price is immaterial as it's only worth what someone is willing to pay. Looking at overpriced ads is asking for trouble and you have to take an overall view.

I love the ads where someone has a bike at 5k and some bright spark comes wading in with "you've undervalued it and it's worth 6k all day long". The bod then thinks he's not getting enough, shoves up the price and it's still in his garage 6 months later! My reply is "if you say it's worth 6k, you better get your arse around to buy it or fuck off and mind your own business".

I've just been offered a really nice 1100 with lots of goodies but it's overvalued as he's just added all the farkles up on a base price. I've put a bid in with him for what I think it's worth to me and just waiting...............:augie

I agree Chris

I reckon my 2005 8/10 1150GSA bike with 48k, as a stock bike and very clean is worth about £4k-£4.5k tops at present and the mint (owned from new) Silver one, with 30k is worth £5.5k, as a standard bike

To me, there bikes are worth twice that, because I like to own them - but they would never sell for that

Market is a bit flat at present

To put it in perspective, £7175 is only the dealer's asking price. Like Johnny, this is a bike i've seen and i think it's a goodun for the right price. That price would be somewhere between what the dealer wants for it and what the potential purchaser's willing to pay. Overall it was in vgc, but the seat was shabby round the edges, the beak protector similar and there were one or two marks from a n/s drop which would've required attention.
Oh and if you thought that one was expensive, don't look at this one!:yikes

A bike that old is going to need something spending on it. As Sgt Bilco rightly says, something is only worth what you can sell it for... For 7k I wouldn't want the need to spend anything on it for a couple of years! And I doubt that would be the case. Unless you just wanted to Garage it...

Oh, all this thing about low mileage. I don't understand it. A vehicle needs to be used. Curiously regular use seems preserves a vehicle. A low mileage 'old' vehicle would always concern me of what internally is going fail (hoses, seals, lubricants etc).
