R1150GSA Fuel Pump Mount / Gauge issues

Long shot I know, but annoyingly my fuel gauge is still playing up. Not sure why, seems that the float is sticking, or getting stuck on the pump strainer.

Is there a nack to mounting the bracket and ensuring that the float is not sticking or is it a suck it and see? When removed and moving freely it was displaying correctly on the gauge. However after filling with fuel, it read empty after 63 miles it showed 1 bar. my mechanic put it down to Australian fuel

If it's reading correctly out of the tank, I would check that the 2 black vent pipes are out of the way when inserting the flange body. Then reconnect the vent pipes. Once the whole lot is reconnected, connect the 4 pin plug, turn tank upside down and check float goes to full bars. Hope this helps.

have you put the fuel plate on with the correct orientation ? sounds like you have it a stud or two out ?

I had it to done over the weekend during a service, and will look to confirm when the tank is a little less full!

Just check that the flat part of the sensor housing is pointing towards the U shaped tank fixture…
Noticed you had your GSA in for a service and I would be utterly surprised if your mechanic gets the position of the fuel sensor plate wrong, but hey worse things have happened.
Also the position of the overflow and vent pipes ( as mentioned above)that’s the 2 small ones in the tank could do with a check, just in case somebody exchanged and lengthened them and they interfere with the freedom of the float
Seen it in mine…some mechanic short cutt the vent and overflow with a U bend and the rubber pipes were completely perished,reputable mechanic it was as well…so check.

Mounted in the correct position unfortunately! Sender unit is knackered I suppose!

if it an exposed sender , clean with a toothbrush and electrical cleaner , operate it by hand to check .
or CAREFULLY us an abrasive cloth going with the sender not across it , and again check.
you can always run a meter over the wires to be sure it has continuity.

have you checked/cleaned plug to RID in the dash ?

When it was plugged in, but outside the tank it was working fine. Operating and showing the fuel gauge rising and falling (however no fuel light which I thought was odd, it only illuminates when turning on the ignition). So it’s working in that sense. However when mounted it just seems to have a mind of its own! I don’t know if it’s been bent or damaged in the past?
