My projest RT is brill but surges like a B'stard.

It's a single spark. It didn't seem so bad when I picked it up so I must have Fecked it up somewhere. There is a little breather pipe with a 90 degree elbow on, it isn't connected to anything and I'm sure it should be but can't see where it goes. It is exiting by the air intake tube, any ideas where it should go, also what cat code plug is best to stop the surge???

Cheers peeps :thumb

That'll be the battery breather pipe. Not needed if you've a GEL battery, but usually left in place by whoever fits it.

Surging - Start from the beginning( valve clearences and end float), and then work your way through methodically .

Any point in changing the Cat code plug???

I've got the pink one in at the minute. Seems to run worse with no plug in. It has the cat and standard exhaust in place.

Will give it a full service at the weekend and see if it is any better............bummer, could have done without that. Seems to run really well, ticks over spot on and revs really smoothly, stutters a bit over 90 and the surge feels like someone is pouring water into the injectors everytime you hold a constant throttle. What I can't understand is why it has started doing this so badly, it wasn't noticable when I rode the bike back from Reading :nenau:nenau:nenau

Is the drain from the petrol tank cap blocked?
This seems to be a fairly common problem letting water collect, then when the cap is opened, in it goes!
Have seen this so bad on a couple of bikes, the fuel pickup was partially submerged in water. This was causing hesitation when accelerating, & surging at constant throttle.
