R12 G/S Enduro

They do seem to be coming down in price second hand . It seems £13500-£14000 gets you a low mileage one . Looking at the GSA1300 ASA now they are £22000 to start with which is incredible. Most of the ones at my dealer are £24500 with luggage . So the G/S Ii not badly priced in comparison

Has anyone come up with a rear hugger solution to protect the shock?

Had a sit on a non Enduro spec one today while strolling past a dealer in Ldn. Lovely bike and with Bahnstormer looking for GSA1250s and my 2.9% PCP up in October, I'm tempted to consider a swap for a lighter bike.

Does anyone know if the givi tank ring for the r nine t is the same for the G/S I contacted sportsbikeshop but they didn't know which i found strange.

@Richard - are in amazing condition considering! Just a shame I never got to fitting them before John came an asking!

Excellent choice Georgeeboi 😃👍 Love our stealth blacks, I originally was going white but with a black seat and went to look at a black one just to see the seat, but when I got there the black looked so much better in the flesh I was smitten. 😍 So that's two of us in Essex, perfect for our well kept roads! 🤣😉🤪

Put some Anakee Road tyres on mine today with its first service . Blimey ! It’s like a super moto now , great in the wet as well , quite a different feel . I’m not taking mine off road so putting these tyres on makes sense for me . Love it even more , though I must say the original enduro pack tyres were not bad except in rain …….which it has done for 6 weeks now . May now ride it to Croatia in the Summer instead of the GSA

I found the stock tyres fine in the rain , last year on tour we had some biblical rain in Germany and had no issues . I have just bought a pair of identical replacements . I guess it depends on your riding style and the roads you use .

I have just finished fitting the Unit Garage Rear Rack & Luggage Plate

The rack is very good quality and the paint finish good

However the fit of the rack is slightly out and I had to open of the holes to get the rack to fit , not a big issue but enough for me to let Unit Garage know

The black rack plate has a very sharp burr all around its outer edge which cannot be removed without removing the black anodised finish

The sharp edge is sharp enough to cut into a soft luggage bag so makes the plate unusable as is so i have asked that it gets replaced with a new one that has been properly de-burred before anodising

As a suggestion I have also fed back that it would be nice if the bolts supplied were Torx head instead of hex head to match the BMW ones (I have swapped them all out for Torx)

I have bought the rack but cant get the torx bolts under the seat out and have rounded one off Blast! Not sure what to do now.

You have to hit them with a heat gun to soften the loctite. Hindsight is a great thing, but won’t help you in this instance. 🤔
Somebody on here will have a home made solution involving taps and drills though?! lol
Good luck 👍

I was planning on changing the tyres on mine but 1600 kilometres of rainy commuting has changed my mind for the moment. They're not the worse but they do fling a huge amount of much and water up onto the bike.

I'm about to collect a used R12 G/S up from a none BMW dealer who doesn't appear to know what he has in terms of packs and items fitted to the bike. The bike has the Whiz Wheel and digital display but no phone holder (think Sp Connect make them) and the dealer is unable to tell me if it has the Connected Ride Control. Is there anyway to know in the menu system or do bikes only with the option come with the Whiz Wheel please?
