I traded in my faithful 2004 GS for a new 30th edition model at the weekend.
Time to inform my broker of the change 'easy I thought'.
Quite a shock when the nice lady at Bennetts informed me that the 30th edition was not on her list of acceptable models and they declined to cover me!!!
So after much trawling through the comparison websites I still couldnt find the model listed.
A call to the helpful slaes team at SBW put me in touch with BMW insurance. Now things started to get really surreal when they hadnt got a clue what I was talking about and had to make a special call to their underwirters and a couple of hours later I received a not unreasonable quote.
However I having accrued many years no claims on a multi bike policy I cant seem to cover my new bike and my Tuono all due to the fact that the GS 30isnt a standard model and I need two policy's one of which wont have he benefit of a no claim bonus.
Surely not everyone with a 30th model has had this problem ( or for that matter the GS Black) Or have you all insured as the standard model and are taking a risk that if you make a claim you cover will be invalid.
Or as is most likely Im missing a trick.
Any help will be appreciated.
