Hi Folks,
Wonder if anyone can help ? Yes I know its the 850\1100\1150 section, but this is the nearest to the R1200c..

I have been up to chrome heads to get some info on how to do a ABS Ectomy, the pipework I'm fine with, its the

electrical connections ie rear brake stop light & front brake stop light any pointers as I done this a few years ago

on an 1100 and all I had to do was remove the ABS relay and it worked fine. so if anyone has done this procedure

on an R1200c then info gratefully acknowledged ...

Many thanks Mack....

is this a servo brake removal??

If so you have to be careful If memory serves correctly the speed signal for the speedo on R1200C comes off the ABS sensor via the ABS ECU

You have to remove the Hydraulic parts from the electronic part and seal up teh electronics bit Take out the ABS bulbs and refit the ABS ECU that way you have no messing with the switches etc which are back to front from ordinary non servo ABS or standard bikes

Hi Folks,
Not really sure if it is anything more than standard ABS ! the bike is an USA import manufactured in 98..

What would be the difference between the standard ABS module and the servo assisted module ?

Many thanks Mack..

Is it broken?? If not leave it be!

2 reasons 1 its quite a good system and 2 its a bollox messing around with taking the tank off etc etc

If you must remove it just unplug the unit and remove

@ 98 its "likely" to be ABS II

As i thought. No servo/ABS on your bike.

Just plain vanilla ABS

ABS Ectomy

Hi Doc Farkoff,

Yes it is broken, and yes I will have to take off the tank as I suspect there is a load of crud in there

and I want to replace the fuel filter..

Hi Steptoe, Thankyou for your long term knowledge, if any one had of worked on a 1200C I'm sure you would

have ;) nice to hear from you all again, its been a few years since I have been here ! I turned

to the dark side and have been happily riding my K1200 GT for the last 6 years which was provided

by the famous MSC Napoli which sank off Branscombe :D Best regards Mack....
