Hi I have a old 2009 r1200gs with TPMS last year it went into the main dealer to change the strip fuel gauge under warranty again ! and reset the TPMS sensors after I had one change due to tyre change damage
The main dealer told they could not change the fuel strip under warranty as it was not faulty and the problem was further in the system
They relearned the TPMs but that reverted to -- -- on the screen on the way home after 20 mins
This week I have just got a hex gs911 and after scanning and clearing clear faults it tells me the sensors are working battery
good but temp is 215 degrees c and pressure 5.1 bar any ideas ?
Also is the fuel strip and TPMs handled by the same ecu?
Lastly on you tube it seems every fuel strip video shows on the display no fuel But on my display the tank indicates always 3/4 full tank
Any help would be much appreciated I know she's an old girl but I still like riding her

Can't answer re the TPMS, I disabled them on my 08 because they did my head in losing signal. However I also had a faulty fuel strip that read 3/4 full all the time so it's not just you. If I kept the bike I would've fit the new strip from Motorworks. 👍

I have had 11 fuel strips now.
I took it in to the dealer a little over 18 months ago to get the updated strip fitted as it had failed again.
They told me the same saying they thought I needed a new ECU. Because they couldn't calibrate the 3 new strips that they tried to fit.
I obviously declined. They fitted the old strip back in and I now have 3/4 of a tank permanently displayed, which is more acceptable that the flashing fuel warning lights.
I now just fill up around about the 325-350 miles mark on my trip meter.
It does seem odd that quite a few are having trouble with the fitment of the upgraded strip.

calibrating the fuel strip takes about 6 mins and uses a lot of battery up - it goes on some heat cycle for 4 mins outside the tank - and must be 100 clean and dry to succeed - really would work better if it had a power supply to the bike to keep the volts up above 13.5 as it tries

TMPS temp is 215 degrees c and pressure 5.1 bar any ideas ?

this is the normal asleep temp and pressures - so not awake or ???

I would get your spare key, ride the bike 5 miles and above 45 mph come home, stall in second gear LEAVING THE IGNITION AND KILL SWITCH IN RUN, put on center stand - connect hex and laptop and read the codes of your sensors

the short ride should wake them and allow you to try and sync them to the bike - never done with GS911 and they do it slightly differently to how I used to use motoscan

I had similar readings when fitting new tpms sensors. Seems to be normal! But clears after the first ride. If you're getting a blank read out, it may mean you'll need to remove them (not physically - I mean in the software) then re-sync them. Should be straightforward with the GS911, the the wake up tool will be your friend since it will allow you to add each sensor in turn, so you can be sure which is the front and rear
