Can I pick your brains and save wasting money by buying the right screen first time? I am 6'5" tall and ride a 1200GS. There are several aftermarket screens available, and several forum members will have bought them. If you are the same height as me, and have found the ideal screen, please let me know which one to buy. I experience severe buffeting when travelling at any sort of speed with the standard screen. Thanks.

Hi Martin, I`m 6`6" & use a Laminar lip extension & Tobinators, the Tobinators allow the screen to be raked back a lot more than standard & the Laminarlip pushes a lot of the airflow higher up reducing but not eliminating all the noise. I would`ve loved to have tried out all the screen options to see what would`ve been perfect for me but I think my set up is a "near enough"

Hope this helps shorty ;) :D

Martin, I've just registered with the club to give you this info.
I'm 6' 5 and have a Secdem on mine, it's excellent.
No buffetting but still some wind noise but nothing compared with the original.
www.secdem.fr will get you on to the web site.
I emailed Cristine at Secdem in English and she replies in English.
Paid by CC but has no secure site so sent details by fax.
Screen arrived 8 days and cost £90 approx depending on Euro exchange rate.
If you give me your email address I'll send Photo of how its looks on the bike.

Is this the one that NN supplies here? http://www.nippynormans.com./prodinfo.asp?number=WDE-1200GS&variation=&aitem=50&mitem=51

Thanks for your reply. My e-mail address is [email protected] Did you get the clear version or smoked?

The screen looks huge compared to the original BMW offering. However, if it stops my head being battered by the wind, it'll be worth it.

I've got teh secdem screen from nippy as well - excellent and it definitely offers more wind protection than the original at a decent price....

Emperor Norton... What size Cee Bailey screen and under what sort of conditions did you try it out?

Personally I prefer the looks of the shape to the Secdem screen, but it is an expensive option to get the Cee B screen then not like it...
