Any one experienced locks falling out of the Panniers ? Lost one on the way home from picking the bike up. Checking the other locks today and two more just fell out when unlocking them:eek:

Have they just been keyed to the bike? If so they haven't been put back in properly. There is a sprung tang that holds them in. If they aren't put in right it doesn't spring out and hold..

Yes they were brand new on a brand new bike

It was a common problem on early GSA panniers

Mine were the same but its an easy DIY fix to locate the last thingy in properly

All that said if you have lost one get it back to the dealers and make them do it correctly.

Check that you can get the panniers on and off as another early issue (on mine ) was the frames n to quite true and once on the boxes could not be unlocked and removed

Same thing happened to me with brand new panniers

One dropped out en route to ferry. I got this replaced a couple of weeks ago and now another has dropped out but I haven't the energy to go back to the dealer again.

A very well placed source within the BMW network intimated that the quality is not as good on the GSA WC panniers. They actually feel flimsy compared to my last set on a GSA TC. What's a boy to do?

on and off fine, yep dealer is going to refit the locks, poor notto check them though, all it needed was to lock and unlock them a couple of times (30 secs a lock tops)

Had my top box changed recently due to leaking

New top box lock fell out, with mine the 7th tag in the lock was missing and was in position 6.

Quick YouTube research and moved the 6th tag and its spring to position 7, refit into top box with the help of a thin bladed screwdriver and a nice "click" and the lock is securely now fitted.

Shame the dealer got one correct and not the second one, could have easily lost it on the way home :-(
