Would be interesting to find out what happens when the canbus is overlaoded on a PTO point......

Nothing bad happens. The canbus just shuts off the accessory socket until you reboot the system (turn the key off and then on). Then it works the same as it ever did as long as you don't overload it again. Much better system than changing fuses. :thumb

I've probably put a couple thousand miles on my GS while wearing my Gerbing jacket liner, plugged into the accessory socket. No problems. I bought the controller when I bought the liner, but I've never used it. When the temp warms up, or I get too hot, I just unplug it.

forgot to add...I also plug it in before I mount up and start the bike, and don't unplug it until I'm off the bike with the bike shut off.

Are you sure it works that way Mike? It seems a strange way to achieve what can simply be done by using a rheostat.

Rheostats waste energy to do the same job that a PWM (Pulse width modulator) does efficiently.

Elecrical things are designed to work their best at specific voltages and currents.... By controlling their power by pulsing them you gain from that efficiency, but still get to have less than max.

Efficient motor controllers work the same way.
