R1200GS GPS mount

Mine came from a guy on eBay - not sure he is still around though - but he made a billet aluminium block that is threaded for RAM mount balls and sits just over the clocks

Thanks Eggchaser,
Would it have been Alder Enterprises? My zumo 660 came with Ram mounts but am keen to see what else is available.

I just had a look ain my eBay account for transactions around the time I bought it and it looks like the person I bought from is no longer registered with an eBay account - their account id shows as a long hex string instead of a true ID.

If I get chance I will see if I can post a picture of what it looks like when I get home.

I have a Garmin Quest mount that I have fitted above the clocks...all I did was pack out the std fitting with some foam wrapped in insulating tape..it seems to be secure enough...

Is there any others?

Having seen them in the metal, it has to be said that the Alder Enterprises GP Mounts are quality bits of kit.....

....and since they're wholly produced in Scotland, you'll be keeping money in the local economy......:)

They're also a bit of a bargain.....

The one I got from eBay uses the arms included with the Garmin and needed at least one RAM ball (purchased separately) from a RAM vendor. It has positions for 3 balls so you can add extra devices to it.

I did find I had to put some foam behind it and tighten the bolt up hard to make sure it did not move in use.

Also it is not a lockable solution, but then I usually just unclip the GPS itself if I leave the bike unattended.

Maybe academic as the vendor appears to no longer be around.

Thanks Eggchaser it look just like the Migsel.

Schtum had emailed Alan I am looking his mount but I still need the bar. Bought some other bits from him nice guy.

Indeed, that is a (not very well made) imitation of my mount:

And they use the RAM ball with the small base, that is likely to break under stress.
I use the much stronger 3/8" base ball.

Maybe that's why he no longer seems to be trading - if mine breaks I will be in touch :)

Thanks bisbee,
This is just what I am looking for.

I had put a search in on the part number but no success.

Saw these fitted to a GS on the BMW stand at the NEC show and they looked much neater than the aftermarket solution.

It's basically a u-shaped cross bar above the clocks (similar to the GSA but without the bosses to fix the larger screen) and a pressed steel GPS bracket :thumb2
