R1200GS must have accessories

Looks the dogs! Are you also going to produce cylinder head covers in carbon?

.

Essential accessories for the 1200 ??

How about a spare final drive bearing ?

Probably fits under the seat ?

Fit one to each rocker cover to help get round corners ? ?

:):)

Dutchman, that hugger is a thing af beauty. However, for the less well-heeled among us, have you considered producing versions that you can sell for less money?

Of course we have...............

...............but we decided to create a premium product, which costs money.

Tooling costs & minumum order constraints mean that injection moulded plastic works out to be prohibitively expensive and given that we are essentially a non-profit making organisation, I'm not about to invest thousands of pounds in items that will take forever to sell.

Carbon fibre suits our products perfectly, as it's a hand-made, relatively low volume process which means we don't have to carry a large stock inventory and currently demand is well ahead of our ability to supply.

It's interesting that many correspondents here have been seeking accessories for the 1200GS, ever since it was launched, but do nothing about it.

CoolCarbon and myself got off our arses and created, from scratch, the products that we are now offering for sale.

They are designed to be a practical and aethetically pleasing addition to a £10000.00 motorcycle. The guiding principle has always been 'would we fit this widget to our own bikes' If the answer is yes, then we do it, if the answer is no, then we don't, simple as that.

Bottom line is, that if you want/need one of our products, then the price is as advertised, less any club or discount offers we may be running from time to time.

That is all...

Cheers

R1200GS - ETA in UK 23rd Sept *thumb-twiddling*

I hope it's not the ETA we have come to know and love in Spain, otherwise your 1200 may go like a bomb....

Fair enough, Dutch. :)

I can never argue with someone who wishes to produce a high quality item. Hope you sell a ton of them.

Dutchman, do you have any pics from the other side of the bike with the hugger?

Sorry, Shedracer........didn't bother, as there's not much to see.....:(

The edge of the hugger is concentric with the wheel & just overlaps the edge of the tread. Misses the OE silencer by 10mm or so.

The alloy arm on the prototype is now away with the others being powder coated, but I'll post better pix next week when it's all back together again.......

ETA - Estimated Time of Arrival, but it might still mean that it'll go like a bomb... :P

Hi Chaps,

so far I've bought .................... and a Baglux tank harness (fantastic colour match and a lovely piece of kit, even though the website doesn't show a yellow option trust me it exists).
Reggie

Reggie, any chance of a photo of the baglux harness is there? The French site has no pics at all of the 12GS.
What is the fit like?

I installed Hepco Becker engine guards on a while ago and had a fall on the left side - bike skidding on diesel for about 15 meters.

Top-left corner of the cylinder cap got badly scratched but nothing fatal.

So I guess the protector did the job - but not completely...

Other than that, small dent at the end of the exhaust and a broken left hand guard...

Not bad given the amount of sparks and noise at the time. BMW do make durable bikes...

Hi Pete,

it's a great fit and the colour match is perfect.

I'll take some shots over the weekend.

Reggie

You don't happen to live in Fors (near Avesta) do you? I know a guy around there that fits your profile :D

Hi Joker...that sounds interesting, let me know how to get in touch with this guy, I don't have many friends who likes GS!
Thanks in advance!

Oil cooler protection, I have one from Wunderlich.
Without it, the cooler clogs up with insects very fast.

Hej Mike!
Kul att hitta någon svensk här! (Nice to see another Swedish guy here!)

Skulle vara kul att höras...diskutera GS med mer! Jag finns nere i Skåne, på msn: [email protected] eller mail: [email protected]
