Could someoe advise me on alternative tyres for my GS, please see my want list below

Never going off road
Want a rear to last about 5000 miles
Would prefere a dual compound (went to Germany 2011 and dont want to knock out middle of tyre)
stick to well known brands
I ride enthusiastically so need plenty of grip

I have been told Bridgestone do a BT020 but no mention of it on thier web site

I am no expert but ive got Michelin pilot road 3 on mine can't fault them :D

Tyres

Paul, I have Pilot 3s on my Ducati MTS1200 and do lots of A road miles. I done over 5000 mile on them and they are only just showing sign of wear even following a trip to the Ring. Not tried them on the BMW yet. I don't think you would be disappointed.

pilot 3's

Had Pilot 3's on a Bandit I had. transformed the bike. Loads of feel from the front end. really confidence inspiring, even in wet.

I managed 7,000 miles and not even half worn. Considering the 1250 Bandit is a heavy torque monster they were impressive

I got 7000 miles out of a pair of Roadsmarts, including a trip to Italy, with quite a bit of motorway work, and used them in a track day aswell... Great tyre if you aren't going off the Tarmac.

I've had a 2004 1200GS from new and have used Metz Tourances, Michelin Anakees, Avon Distanzias and am now using Conti Trail Attacks.

Not had a problem getting 5,000 miles from a rear with any of them.
