Does anyone have any usefull suspension settings for GS1200 - 15 stones rider 5ft 11inches tall - not too aggressive a rider. I have been told by my dealer that front adjuster should be on setting 2 (from least) and rear should be preload none until bike broken in and damping is now on about 5 turns to S from fully H.
The ride was improved alot by backing front adjuster off to 1st notch but it is still pretty harsh compared to previous Varadero. (it could of course just be harsh because everything is new and stiff).
Any advice would be helpful to make sure I am doing the right thing by running front on 1st notch.

Thanks in advance
Rik

I'm surprised that the dealer told you to have no preload on the rear. With your height and weight I would have thought that at least half wound up would be better. I'd leave the front on the standard BMW setting.

Hi
John

I am also 6'3'' and 15st and usually ride solo with front on 2nd notch all the time and back preload on Medium, rising to 2 clicks off max on the rear when accompanied by my BSPP. No problems and no bottoming at speed. I haven't needed to touch the rear damping setting so can't tell you just where its set to but it has been fine for 15K miles from new.
