Guys, hope all well everywhere...

I want to put some packing under the switch rocker as described elsewhere, to make it switch more positively into the on position.

OK so far, but how to expose the back of the rocker / front of the micro-switch?

I can't see how the switch is being secured in the black shell....

Any advice welcome.

Nervously yours,

Bin

These would appear to be sealed units, does the thread where you got this information not give more detail?

Ok, you push the switch from the back (resin seal face) and it pops out of black shell towards the rider.. photo later...

You can put a sliver of milk bottle plastic under the rocker to make it engage better. Mine still played up so I've now got a toggle switch on top of the beak by the winglet.

Hi Bendy, just put 3 little shims in, each 0.6mm (from soup pot lid), but as you said it is not 100% solved. Better but... the ramps which locate the white plunger are not that positive. I will see how it is on the road. Thanks for advice.

I did similar things and all was fine for a while. I changed to LED spots and then had problems with them going into strobe mode. The fix (to stop them strobing) is simple enough but I was told they were still flickering randomly. The toggle switch was an easy fix into a pre-existing mounting hole.

Replace the ugly looking thing with one of these. I have one on my bike now for about 30,000kms, ridden in all weather and I use a power washer to clean the bike........no problems.

Looks nice but the switch id built into the handlebar switch block is its still ugly even when its not used. As said I fitted a toggle switch to the beak next to the screen winglet.

Mine's a '07 so the BMW switch had it's own postcode on the handlebar clamps!!!!

It was working perfectly........it just got ditched!!!!

I'll have to get a GS left hand side switch box and put my (oh so much better?) Adventure one into storage.
