R1200GSA LC v Jaguar XF

Firstly, hope all involved are recovering, physically and mentally.

Shame the rider didn't use the slow in, fast out technique. One of the advanced RoSPA tutors regularly uses this stretch for assessments, I know as I was assessed along it.

As someone else stated, its a shame advanced training is not compulsory for all road users. Cyclists and horse riders should be included in the requirement for road training.

I doubt there is a rider on this forum who hasn't made at least one mistake during his riding career and has got away with it, this guy made an error and bought it, looks like he froze, thankfully he didn't take anyone out with him, other than the Jag.

I doubt that he did it on purpose, It was an accident......humans make 'em.

I say....Let he who hath not sinned cast the first stone.

Be nice to find out how the rider is, he might even be someone from this forum.

I'm guessing here and may well be wrong but, isn't that some sort of force's regalia/insignia on the grille of the XF?

I've looked at my car's chrome bumper RAC badge and its nowt like that.

Aha, no such thing as an accident anymore

Police call it a Road Traffic Collision nowadays and as such someone is therefore culpable

In this case the GSA rider, the scene will have been investigated by Hampshire's finest Road Traffic Police and no doubt they may prosecute this motorcyclist

No such thing as a fuck up, somebody is always to blame

Just for bmgsrider, if he was overtaking a cyclist (a perfectly legitimate road user, entitled to be on that stretch of road) then the GSA rider shouldn't have overtaken unless he could safely pass and see far enough to complete the overtake - perhaps there was no cyclist and it's all in your own mind

The GSA rider was committing an act of either reckless or dangerous driving, end of

Try playing and pausing quickly. The rider appears in view on the wrong side of the road. He doesn't change his line at all until the impact. Not one bit - straight round the bend on the wrong side of the road. He had plenty of time to flick it back across the road so either he totally froze or something catastrophic happened just out of sight. I hope he and the driver are OK but given the tightness of the bend it can only really be the rider at fault. As has been said the car had time to veer off the verge, which may have saved a much worse crash for the biker.
