Maybe not the best
offroad bike if you compare the prices of typical single-cyl bikes, but sure one of the best
RALLY bikes! After the R900RR appeared to Paris-Dakar, it's been nr.1 dream-machine to many pro-riders on sand and gravel sections of the race, but sad the PD put restrictions on and BMW retired from the race then...
Rally and offroad are a bit different terms, much the same, but much different as well. Indeed, sure the HP2 copes relatively well offroad'n'dirt (the term as most of us know) as well. It's all up to rider afterall, the machine doesn't drive for you! For example look at Simo Kirrsi on HP2 on Cross Country series competing full season with 80kg lighter single-cyl machines on strict offroad/cross tracks and achieving astonishing 2nd place overall. Doesn't it say something about low centre of gravity and low rpm torque boxer bike's traction and maneuverability on offroad as well?
PS: as a regular driver-traveller i'd vote for GSA, but to make popular and to see more talents competing on HP2's and it's analogues in the future i vote for it this time.
