First ride out on new (to me) R1250R, what an engine, why anyone would want a 1300 is beyond me.

Anyway, after a short while I realised the clutch is biting on the last 10mm of travel (away from the bars) the bikes only done 3000 miles for a 69 plate, 1 owner. I 'm not sure what the answer is aprt from take it back to dealer next week.

Quick shifter works fine up and down, bike runs well so I'm sure the clutch itself is ok. Anyone any ideas ?

Have you adjusted the lever span, to see if that helps?

Does the oil level look correct in the reservoir? (i'm assuming it's a hydraulic actuated clutch)

‘Cos they’re even better than the 1250. :nod

They do bite a fair way out, as it’s pretty much new I’d ask the shop if they can do anything about it

Just in case it is low on fluid be aware that the LCs use mineral engine oil for the clutch rather than traditional clutch and brake fluid 👍

Good morning all, did you find out any more on your clutch issue? my 1250RS is very similar with the biting point quite late.

No not really, there is a video on YouTube by a motorcycle policeman. He shows how to adjust it, but it didn't make that much difference, maybe 10mm closer ? If you turn it out too far the clutch slips.

I've had similar issues, took the lever off, pulled out the master cylinder push rod, there's a 2 mil Alan key just cracked it by less than half turn and big improvement.
