Its like waiting for you next hit of crack and the dealer wont let you know whats happening...…...arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrg … cant wait need the new bike as test ridden everything else and cant find anything as good as the GS but would like that bit of extra if you know what I mean .
Conventional forks are not as good as the gs system , not even close , no matter what the seem to claim they just don't have that Gs thing.
The KTM 1290 just wallows , dips , lifts and fucs you about . The gs does not it just sits there saying come on then. Ducati , same as the Ktm , Triumph ( good ) but still forks .
Once the BM has the little extra the rest need to catch up again and sort their suspenders out.
So many test riders comment on how good the Gs is even as its (so called ) under powered its the way it allows you to carry constant speed with laser guided handling ( Ride Mag ). Anyway I a beta tester and proud , bring on the issues as im not scared , bothered or worried , to little time to dither and watch from the out side .

Does it have a release date???????!!!!

No!!!!!!

Get a 1200 and LOVE it like we all do !!!

I have ......... but it’s. back in the dealers for new cams , again ...... new engine for me I have done 3 in 5 years so I feel it’s time for a change of power plant . To add I love my 1200 and as I have posted it’s the best , I’m a gs fan and have put up with so much hassle , but I keep loyal .
Oh by the way try not to use too many !!?? As it may cause offence 🤪

In terms of BMW declining quality, I quote that great orator George W. Bush..

“There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.”

Like you said it stick...:thumby: In oct/nov we will finally see the not all new but upgraded GS in Koeln or Milano...:beerjug:All the GS needs for now is 25 more horse-power on top to make things more exiting and maybe a 17 inch front wheel as a third version (GS,ADV,XR) for guys who don't leave paved roads.Next generation can shed some weight which is never a bad thing by more liberal use of Carbon Fiber.Probably in 2023 for BMW 100th anniversary...
A 2019 Rally in triple black with 17 inch forged wheels and 150hp would immediately be granted asylum in my garage...:D

100% on that one , already dreaming and getting my holding deposit in as I know the bike will be brilliant as is the current model . Its really is going to be a game changer as I have already said the BM is so good already.
Happy days to all that take the plunge with the new bike , Im ready and I will get the first round in at the Beta Bar lol.
Would be interested in the 17 inch model but I am so used to the 19 now and feels better and less twitchy than the 17 imho.

If they bring out a gs next year then the gsa will follow the following year, if they improve the build quality and if they do a basic model that is not electronics and esa heavy (doubt it) then maybe a couple of years after that I would contemplate one.
Been a BMW Beta tester and I will be b*ggered if I'm doing it again

I would not worry too much as all the testing had been done since the launch in 2013 , so most issues have been addressed.
I would imagine the chassis , main engine would be the same along with suspension and electronics , the main change being the displacement and the heads.
Alpha Racing did the VVT in 2016 and proved well at around 140 .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVC9jYMl6FI

Was that VVT with the same displacement? (Can’t seem to get sound on the video)

If not, then another 50cc would bring it up to, what, 150hp? That seems like a good number to me.

I agree with people who say it doesn’t really need much more power, but in these times of switching between modes, the manufacturers may as well do it. The people who want it will buy it (instead of a KTM, if BMW’s wishes are granted) and the people who don’t want it can just use a different power mode.

It’s about appealing to a wider market as much as it is about pleasing existing customers.

Apparently this time they are breaking with tradition and launching both the GS and GSA at the same time, at Intermot.

Most issues have been addressed? Are you serious? :blast

would be great if they did a DCT, DSG version..

Most of the original issues may have been solved but bmw have innovated and introduced new ones to replace them just to make owners of 2018 models not feel left out. Poor gearchanges paah new owners get self unlacing wheels, although some of the old chestnuts have been kept for continuity

It really is getting ridiculous. I’ve had nearly 10 GS’s and think it’s a brilliant bike. But there’s no way in hell I’d buy a new one until all these issues have been sorted. Check my spokes every time I ride? You’ve got to be bloody joking.:blast

The Germans are saying 134 bhp and 140nm,a new tft screen as well apparently, with the possibility of a higher powered one later S-Boxer.
Who knows

Yes it has a release date it was 2016, 2017 and 2018. Now it's going to be 2019. the press have got to have something to fill the empty space's. I guess they will be right some time

Ummmmmmm why do I need to worry the wheels on my 2018 Rallye?

I went to my local stealer the other day to see about trading in my three year old triple black for a new gs and was advised by the sales manager that if I order a current spec bike it would have to be whatever is already built and that was quite limited, he told me that new 1250 would be available at 1.6% premium over the current one and would be around November time for delivery. In current spec he only had 2 gs,a white and a choc poo brown and 6 gsa rallys and a triple black gsa to register in sept.So the new ones appear to be imminent. I'll keep mine for a bit longer, you lot have made me cynical regarding bmw new editions!

Don't listen to them , the new bike will be as good as the ones are now but with head changes.
To add look on other makes forums , all makes have issues but concidering the amount of GS sold its not really a problem at all , just some have bad luck ( me included) but im not worried as always had great dealer support.
