R1250GSA rear shock absorber mounting bolt.

Hi all, I have a question, I think I know the answer but would like conformation.

Ive just had some work done at a dealership on Monday and today took my R1250 GSA to a local MOT station for the MOT. The chap doing the MOT pointed out to me that the top mounting bolt for the rear shock absorber (mounting to the chassis) didn't have a washer/nut fitted.

I can't see evidence of a washer/nut being fitted prior to the work being done but simply having this pointed out to me has got me wondering. Please could someone confirm ??

Just checked and no nut on. Think BMW in there wisdom just use thread lock to secure. So no worries.

To make things easier , can you supply the month of manufacture and model year if you want info on parts etc

based on the data you gave, there are 52 manufacturing months , which may have variations on the screw / assy

a model year drops the searches to one in 12, and model year and month of manufacture means it's one in one

for info its an ISA screw at the top and a filister head screw at the bottom based on the 1 in 52 shot

The shock top mount bolt on my 2019 1250GSA screws into a captive thread as part of the chassis, and will be loctited on assembly the same as my old Hexhead was. Whilst your MOT tester is probably just being thorough, you can relax. Why not fit a set of frame inexpensive blanking rubbers from eBay/AliExpress to close off the holes in the chassis and prevent corrosion plus hide the bolts from nosey MOT testers in future.
