R1300 RS screens

Tried the screen this morning. I'm unsure. First point is its alot bigger. So is more in my line of sight. I find this a bit distracting. I mounted on the lower mounting holes. On low its not as good as I expected. Quite disappointing. On raised its quite high compared to standard as will take some getting used to. Height seems ok but on low it seems the angle is too far back so wind comes directly to face. Crazy.

I moved it to the higher mounting holes to try. But on raised its like a barn door and I'd be basically looking through it! No way.

So I've set it back to the lower mount holes. But spaced out the top screws with nuts and washers. I will retry on commute home.

Thanks. It is taller than I was thinking it might be. By 4.5 inches/114mm more than the BMW original. I have a collection of hardly used screens over the years that induced mild motion queasiness by being the bottom edge of an already complicated, constant flip-flop visual field. A look thru screen is out of the question. Probably fall back on my usual pull a mould off the BMW original and lay-up a CF opaque smaller, rounded top version and start tweaking shape for neck, face shield air flow. Seems to me the Popular "Bat Man" top edge shape is at the helmet louder than rounded. Those corners definitely trigger vortices. Probably December or so...

After 500km to get used to it. The screen is much better. Especially with the spacers. There really is a difference between low and raised. In raised it isnt silent. But it is improved with less wind to helmet. For sure i will keep it on.

Currently showing on Motocard website (2 week lead-time), complete with a 20% discount. Have ordered one so will be able to do a comparison between Puig and the Powerbronze touring screen

It will be good to see what you think. For sure is alot better now it is spaced out at the top mount holes. But keen to see what you think as standard.

So screen is now installed (delivered an hour after a ride of course!).

Have fitted it to the top mounting holes as that aligns to where I had the Powerbronze screen. Good news is it doesn't require spacers and still clears the satnav mount (the PB one needed 2 spacers for each screw) and I'm hoping the shape will cause less buffeting around the shoulders. Will update when I've tested it and also, hopefully, when I can find where that bloody spacer dropped inside the bike...

Talking of screens, my Powerbronze one is in the for sale section. £50 delivered if anyone wants to try it for cheap?
