R1300GSA - too box light not coming on?

I've had a quick search but to no avail - at least for the 1300gsa - there are some threads on the K16 top box light...

I've got a new-to-me 2025 model 1300 GSA - it came with full bmw luggage - the Top-box has a light, USB port and central locking.

However - while the remote central locking works well, the USB port and Light don't work at all.
I've checked the electrical contacts - they look fine and i've given them a quick clean to be sure.

anything else i can check?

Must be a fault. I also have the same model and same year with full luggage set and the top box electrics are fine and the charging point in the side pannier. Suggest you take it back to the dealer and have them check and or replace.

I've bought the bike used (private sale) so not sure they will care - although the entire bike-and-luggage is under a year old - there must be some sort of warranty on the luggage?

(i was kind of hoping someone might say "oh you have to enable it somewhere in the deepest darkest settings menu..." - but looks like its just plain broken

It should still be under warranty so just take it along to a dealer and get them to check it out. Unless of course it’s been physically damaged somewhere…..

I expect you know but the ignition needs to be on or recently turned off to allow the light and usbc point to be active ?

Had exactly the same issue with mine. Make sure the power connector on the bike is correctly positioned (it's straight) and replace the top box. My central locking was ok but the light and USB socket were dead same as yours. All working fine now.

Same happened to me . I just took the box off and reseated it . Fine after that

What did you do to sort it? Take off and replace the top box? Must just have been the connector but strange that the central locking was working.

Actually the USB socket in the top box is very powerful and with the right cable charges my phone in about 30-40 mins. Also works fine in the top box with my Chigee AIO 6

It also needs to be dark or at least low ambient light conditions. If you cover the TFT it will think it’s dark and turn the light on provided everything is sat correctly and power is getting through
