Gracias amigo.

I think its the autism 😂. I just say what i feel and see. Only then can we make real decisions as we're not lying to ourselves or blurring the reality.

Maybe, I think we all have a bit of that :)

I just appreciate a straight shooter, there is no question you clearly know what your talking about and have the experience to understand, evaluate but most importantly articulate what is happening in the different scenarios. That ability to decode factually is increasingly a rare skill.

Your willingness to pass this information on i find is so very helpful as it’s enabled me to have some forewarning as to what to expect the bike to do and will do under certain settings and be prepared for when it’s likely to start getting a bit lively. That kind of feedback takes hours to accumulate and here you are passing it on. Good on you.

Happy to share. I find this stuff interesting. Its human psychology isnt it. People with low ability or who know they are talking BS tend to over share info but it has no basis or backing evidence when questioned. Or the opposite which happens in work. They withhold info as they are scared others discover that info and then pass over them and gain more knowledge.

If we share and talk. Then for sure some things will be probed, then analysed and we then cement it is good info or we discover something new and we all learn.

The problem with bikes (and cars) is male BS and ego which actually prevents progress. I find this hard to articulate on posts as when I explain I'm trying to pass on info but the wrong person with the wrong mindset can read it as BS etc. Eg- tyre pics. Purely to back up the reality of the situation and show the results of the action.

The Mk4 will change the bike for the better. But for sure ride it hard with the 3. Get used to it. Then change and you'll instantly feel the bike come to you. Like a pair of gloves that just fit. The bike will feel more natural due to that increased rear grip and drive. But also the sharper front but also more stability at lean. As really without that it would push the front on exit drive. Exactly what happened with the 3 front and 4 rear.

You will love the bike. I preferred it with the pegs in the highest setting. It felt like i could lock my legs in better and use my legs more but also didn't take away comfort. I'm 178cm, 5ft 9. One big thing with the RS is rear brake. It really likes and needs rear brake on entry. Changes the way it turns. And also as we discussed. TC on -4 or lower. Without that its a bit dead.

If you tour to spain. (Or anyone on the board for that matter) and want to meet up to chat bikes. See some great local roads. Just message me.

To back up the Bridgestone S23 info. An S23 fitted to my old GSXS1000. Can see the dual compound and how the tyre falls apart. The Dunlop is nothing like that. If you watch Fagans track video also and pause it at the end when the bike is shown. Zoom on the tyre. Its super clean considering the weight of that bike being ridden on track. No tearing. That in itself says everything we need to know. Also Micheal Neeves did a tyre test recently and compared all the sport tyres. It also is very interesting.

Can see what a mess the tyre is. The R1300RS would be alot harder on it. So S23 out. Continental possibly good but wear will be bad. Michelin ok as long at its 21.3 deg C and pressure is exactly 2.5bar or some other crazy small window.

Your tyre pic illustrates your point really well, if you saw that in isolation you would assume there was a suspension or track surface problem

Obviously if you have got the bike set at TC -4 you are in Dynamic Pro. In DP it feels like there is less front brake actuation when you apply the rear brake, less... but not none.

It a bit of a thing with modern BMW bikes this front/rear brake linkage, it makes it a bit difficult for settling/pulling the bike down on the rear brake and for trail brake corner entry, how do you deal with that? Do you know if there is any way you can make the brakes act independently?

Oh, and will be down your way late next year, so hopefully can buy your a beer or three :-) (If you tour to spain. (Or anyone on the board for that matter) and want to meet up to chat bikes. See some great local roads. Just message me)

With the brakes. Dynamic Pro separated them enough to make it work. Its mostly front, with rear as you say to pull it down or more so to hook it in. Mid corner when you use the rear to make it turn you're off throttle anyway and at lean. So the pressure on the rear brake is so light its not enough to bring in the front.

I'm not sure they're linked much in Pro. Its possible to lock the rear with ABS off so I think all should be ok. Just drag a bit of rear when you use the front. All depends on the corners etc. But Trail the front in and when you release you csn keep the rear dragging a bit until you're happy.

I found it made a big difference mid turn also. Drag it just a bit and it completely changes the way it turns and holds the line. Alot of other bikes arent affected so much. The RS really reacted to it.
