....bit of a quandry......
I've got the chance of a lovely standard un-messed blue 75/6, with colour matched RS fairing fitted (properly). It's a very tidy, very clean bike. On a sorn, could be on the road very quickly
Could be mine for a grand.:)
I don't need it, don't know when I'd have time to ride it, can't quite afford it....but old boxers are starting to shoot up. Could be a good chance to get a tidy bike for the right price.
However, tucked away in the garage is a 73 R90S awaiting restoration, an R80ST that just needs good service and a fettle to get back on the road, and a 30th Anniv F800GS.
Would owning four BMWs be a sign of hoarding?:green gri

Buy the 75/6.
You know it makes sense ...
Only bike you have that will lose a shitload of money over next 4 years is the 30th anni taiwanese corrosion special...
Dump that while you can, then get the ST on the road, best handling airhead bar none.

PS. If you don't want the 75/6, give me the address I'll find space for it :)

If you don't buy it, you KNOW that you will look back in (say) five years and shake your head at your stupidity...

The perfect, Daytona Orange R90S, that I turned down for four grand in 2008 still haunts me.....:blast

Somehow I thought I'd get plenty of encouragement to buy on here!:D
I'm off to see it next week.

..erm.....anyone lend me a grand?:toungincheek

well, I went and had a look, had a ride.....and what a throwback. Crude, clunky, brakes abysmal, paint dodgy, a few period accessories such as twin Fiamms...but still lovely, and capable on open roads:D
First time I'd ridden an RS since the 80s, and it's still comfy and tucked in. Very strange after a 90 mile thrash on my F800gs though.
Pulled well, but probably needs a good service and carb balance. Suspension was pretty bad and will need renewing both ends. Neutral light stays on green whatever gear it's on, probably just a switch issue though. Would look much better with the RS fairing taken off and all put back to standard. Don't suppose a secondhand RS fairing is worth much these days though. It's got a single ATE disc, and I never found out a way to adjust them that made any difference. A brembo front would be better, but then it's getting up in cost and time.....still not sure....but at £900.....can I walk away?:nenau

Ditto the 25k miles top condition, Mystic I saw in 2010 for £2.5k in 2010... I could have ridden it for several years and still made a profit...
