Hi all. I have recently had the final drive for my g/s rebuilt by a (suposedly) reputable bmw guru, only to find when fitting it that both the fill and drain hole threads for the shaft oil are completely mullered. Has anybody managed to helicoil these without removing the seal retainer internal nut thing? I have done plenty of thread repairs, so that bit i can deal with, but it looks a bit of a pita to get the seal retainer out.
