R80G/S Driveshaft Snap Ring

I think I might a making a bit of a meal of this: trying to reassemble the monolever on my R80G/S. Easy enough compressing it and getting the snap ring out but before it flies off never to be seen again I was wondering if there is a tool or a technique to getting the ring back on the shaft and into the groove.

Any advice much appreciated

I use a pair of these.(not recommending the supplier or anything ,it was just the first image I found)

I have the correct compressor but you could use a press or maybe a ratchet strap to compress the shock absorber spring

Thanks Mikey, I’ve managed to compress the spring and release the snap ring but because it is well recessed into what they call the ‘clutch bell housing’ (No.6) I thought there would not be enough space to expand some pliers - I’ll give it a go.

My Facom snap ring pliers turned up today, snap ring fitted and all ready to fit back on the bike. Thanks for the help Mikeyboy.
