I want to replace the original ignition coil on my G/S for the newer version one.

Do i need to replace the ignition control module as well ?

If i need a new module is it worth getting one from Euro Motor Electrics ?

Thanks Steve

Is it a Bosch coil you’ve bought?

Wedgetail ignition is the only brand new and up to date ignition you can get.

Twin output coils from 80/90s K series bikes work fine with the existing ICU and are readily available new? and secondhand although I fitted this one to mine:

https://www.siebenrock.com/en/electric/engine-electrics/3083/dual-ignition-coil?c=630

That’s what I’ve been fitting to customers bikes for more than 25 years who had the old unreliable coils fitted. To my knowledge all of them (my customers seem to hang into their old classics) are still working perfectly

I ended up fitting a new 0.7 ohm Enduralast coil and module from Motorworks ., and its made a tremendous difference.

The bike starts and runs better and the problem i was having with inconsistant idle seems to have gone.
