R80 G/S PD bar risers

The bar riserers i made would fit the original top plate ( but the flexi steel top plate is crap and the best place for it is the bin )....One of the best mods is to put a paralever front end on the bike ( expensive though )...Triple clamps are better, forks are way better, brakes are better...
Trouble is it's never ending and expensive
When you have finished you will have a bike thats still not as good as a paralever but cost a fortune :blast
Probably best to leave it standard and put up with it's 25 year old design limitations....Because once you start it's never ending...Been there and done that...In the end the best mod i did with mine was to replace it with a basic

Sorry - I post too late at night sometimes and I dont have a secretary too proof read it for me anymore.
The risers I am referring to are two piece items . They include the riser and a cap, and are a fair bit wider than the stock items. They are made so that the riser can be bolted down on to your your existing bottom half, then the cap screwed to the riser.
The risers have deeply recessed slotted and shouldered holes and I simply bolted them down through the existing bottom half with a allen headed bolt so that the riser and the bottom half were bolted to the top yoke.
The cap then screws down into the riser. Both parts are wider than stock which allows the cap screws to be approximately the same centres as the original fixings - they are just further out from the centre line of the bike .

Hope this is clearer than my earlier posts.

They sound like just the ticket :thumb I haven't seen any over here but will keep an eye open :beerjug:

Not sure which bit you mean you have, is it the riser blocks, what else would I need. Maybe I'm being abit thick here.

this is getting confusing:rolleyes:

Yes, I was afraid that it was getting a bit confusing :)

This is what I have here:

It is a lower fork brace, that can be made into a top fork brace with some machining.
But don't ask me what exactly needs to be machined, I don't know that.
You can have the bit but you're on your own from there :augie

I have been looking at doing this mod a few years ago but then I decided to take the easier way and put a complete R100GS front end on.
That is pretty much plug and play and quite an improvement.

Cheers,
Michel

Bidding on some standard clamps on ebay so I can have a go at the heating up and replacing with longer threaded bolt idea.
Might at some time look at one of those San Jose bits, where do they come from?
