Changing the front tyre last night and gently tapping in the wheel shaft with a rubber mallet the bloody fork leg clamp just broke off :blast Fair enough the bike is 27 years old but I thought these things can take a ermmmm hammering :D

Can anyone tell me if later or different model lower fork legs are interchangeble with a 1986 PD g/s :thumb2

ST has the same fork lower I think

The st has a different fork slider.

The forks on the g/s are identical to the 81-84 road bikes. The only difference is a round spacer that sits under the spring to give an illusion of higher forks. The springs are the same as the rt and rs.

Just buy any fork from an 81-84 800 or 1000 road bike mav just remember to take the spacer out of yours. When you do measure it for me please. I think its 20mm thick but can't remember off hand.
