OK folks I need some help from those more technically minded than me….so anybody feel free to chip in:)

For some little while, when the motor has got warmed up, when I go off throttle the revs drop to about 1750 and then linger there and take some time to die back down to idle speed. Bike then started running noticeably rough (usually very smooth).

Diaphragms are about 9 years old but the bike hadn’t run for about 5 years (we were overseas) until 2021. Does this sound like an air leak…would you replace the diaphragms, or is this a “how long is a piece of string” question.

Thanks in advance.

advance and retard bob weights likely sticking in the bean can

not allowing the advance to fall off again and keeping rpm at high tickover until they do

Usually Diaphragms crack and don;t let them rev

OK, found the rough running problem, the screw had fallen out of the left hand carb vaccine tube! Other one nice and snug. Made a temporary rubber bung and all new OK.

Thanks for the advice folks.
