If anyone is running Continental tkc80 tyres on a R80g/s can I please ask what pressures are right for them.

If it helps, I’m 85kg ( ish) ride solo….

I’ve used them on my paralever at standard pressure (2.0F and 2.4R). One thing to note is that on any bike I’ve used them on they always feel weird and I have no confidence in them for the first 200 miles or so and then they seem to settle down and you can take more liberties with them

They do feel a little strange, but only done 40 miles or so, and I had heard they need a 100 miles or so to bed in.
 
I’ve had many tyres on my 100GS including TKC 80. I run road tyres such as Tourance at 2.5/2.9 but TKCs at 2.2/2.5 never happy with them though.

Hi .. I am same weight with exactly the same bike and tyres .. on the road I am running 30 front/34 Rear (same as Mad hatter), off road I drop to 20 Front/24 Rear .. the carcasses are quite stiff so they will still feel quite 'hard' but this will give you good traction on most green lanes and reduce 'bouncing' in ruts quite so much, my wheels do not have rim locks so I do not fancy going lower, also, I do not tighten the valve nut down (leave about halfway on the thread) so if it does move it will not pull the valve stem off.

They did take a bit of getting used to but I now really trust them as a 'do it all' tyre, definitely took a bit of bedding in.
 
TKCs at 2.2/2.5 never happy with them though.
I should say that performance off road is fine at lower pressures and as long as it’snot too muddy as the blocks clog quite easily. My issues with them are basically poor mileage due to very uneven wear.

They had a recall a few years ago, due to a manufacturing defect causing dangerously uneven wear. I had a couple of front tyres that actually lost blocks, through to the carcass underneath. As they are back on sale, I assume they fixed the problem. Other than that, i've always like them.
 
I use them all the time on my airhead special. (apart from muddy days out)

Long distance, or trips to the shops, mooching about, or a bit of off roading, never a problem and I forget they're knobbly, they're so good on the road.
 
I have been considering using the new Mitas Enduro Trail XT+ but not sure if they are too wide. The TKC80s only just have enough clearance against the spring.

I'll start a thread on this to see if anyone else has tried them.
