 Mine's the same as well. A temporary solution to solve it is.............................

remove the kick start :)

Great bike, nice parking spot.
There is a remedy.
Get a good chair, pour yourself two fingers of single malt in a glass, sit down in front of that bike and sip.
By the time you're done, you'll be in love all over again!:rob

Nice bike, but missing the original standard engine protection bars..... Original only had side stand and RH pannier... Side stand was mouted on left hand crash bar :)
The center stand was an optional extra....

Shirley, if you have done the work on the bike or had the work done for you, you know what you have spent , so you have an idea how much you would like for it.

Or is this just another willy waving thread?.(in the wrong section:rolleyes:)

Don't sell her, you'll regret it, ride and enjoy the quirkiness of one of the best airhead BMWs' ever made.......

I have been looking for either a G/S or a PD for the last 12 months. Decent ones don't come up very often. I got an 84 G/S last October. Paid over £4k. Mine was blue and is now white. (This evidently adds £500 to the value of the bike). Then spent cash on odd bits to get it sorted. You can convert it to a PD with a tank and seat etc, then all of a sudden it's worth £9k + ... Now that's magic.
NB - re the engine and frame numbers, they don't match, but you can date them to confirm they are correct.
