R80GS Speedo

Can anyone tell me what size the threaded part that the cable screws onto the speedo head is?
I took a chance and bought a speedo from India on ebay but it doesn't fit mine! The speedo I already have isn't the original either so I'm wondering whether the cable is correct or not.

all BMW air head speedos have the exact same thread

On your GS or G/S, you can fit a /5 thread : aloy instead of plastic

Thread size looks like 18 mm dia and around 17 mm long. Thread is quite coarse, looks like around 10 threads so probably 1.75 mm.
