Having grief with the front brake, put a new master cylinder on with reservoir and no matter what I try I am getting a slight weep between the plastic reservoir and the alloy base. Any tips to get round this.

Cheers

Yes remove the plastic bit Off the alloy (Small Phillips screw from below) and check the O ring on the Spigot for a nick and the opening for a scratch and check the Plastic bit for a hairline crack

IF it is tight to remove? Throw the whole assembly in a vessel of Boiling water and carefully try twisting it off/out after a few minutes

Thank you. It was new from Motorworks and I have tried my old reservoir and new so maybe there is an imperfection in the spigot. will take it off again and have a look and send it back.

New reservoir or New Master Cylinder?

Usually their stuff is Okay

The opening in the master cylinder may just need a scuff with Scotchbrite or a new O ring and a smear of rubber grease

Whole new kit.

new master cylinder on and not leaking.

Now leaking at old stainless hose connection, new hose on order and hopefully thats it.

Master cylinder done and leak free, but the stainless brake line that the previous owner had put on was weeping, ordered a new one only to find that it was too short. Anyway put the brake system back to stock as all brackets and rigid line at the bottom were missing. so far leak free so may try for an MOT today..

She passed....

What I have noticed is that when I pull front brake there is a very slight touch of fluid at the rigid line where it goes into the caliper do you think I have not tightened this up enough as didnt want to go too mad..
